OUR STORY

It All Started With A Passion

Wilder-Nest Retreats is the realization of a dream shared by mother and daughter, Shellie and Stephanie.  Since launching in 2008, they've poured their passion into creating a welcoming and restorative retreat experience, sharing the beauty and tranquility of Wilder-Nest with countless guests.

Shellie's dream was to create a place where she could host retreats for all kinds of gatherings, a vision that found its perfect expression in Wilder-Nest.  This dream was just one of many she realized throughout her remarkable life.  From her successful psychotherapy practice, Wings to Change, to her work as a substitute teacher for Thompson and Poudre Schools, and her contributions to the Larimer County WIC Program in Fort Collins, Shellie dedicated herself to helping others.  Later, she was instrumental in establishing the Greeley Police Department’s Victim Services, where she served as the Victim Services Coordinator.  Her unwavering dedication was the heart of Wilder-Nest Retreats. Her resourcefulness and strength ensured the retreat's success, creating a haven where guests could escape to a simpler time. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in every aspect of Wilder-Nest. Stephanie is committed to carrying forward their shared dream, ensuring that Shellie's legacy continues to inspire and comfort all who visit.
